RSVP is partnering with the Wenatchee River Institute at Barn Beach Reserve in Leavenworth, WA to recruit youth education field day volunteers. Volunteers will help students use binoculars to view birds and spawning salmon, use nets to collect insects, use a field guide to identify various organisms, and will supervise scavenger hunts, among other activities. Students range in age from Kindergarten to 12th grade, but most programs are aimed at 3rd through 5th grade students.
Requirements: No prior training or experience is necessary, the Wenatchee River Institute will provide you with training. You must enjoy nature and working with children, and should be in relatively good physical condition since this volunteer position requires walking much of the 9 acres of the site, including one hill. Must be willing to sign up for a morning, afternoon, or all-day shift. Lunch is provided to people who volunteer all day.
